Sampling nearest distant point from all directions?
My mesh (or point cloud) has several complex shape layers surrounding each other and I would like to remove the exterior layers and only leave a layer that is located inside the structure. The structure is an oyster cluster(groups of shells) and I am trying to isolate a specific interstitial space s...

Geometric feature indices and what they mean.
I am trying to use the geometric feature functions in the Cloudcompare and wasn't sure of many features you have there. Roughness, curvature, density sounds straight forward but most of the indices under the 'feature' didn't click. For example, Sum of eigenvalues, Ominvariance, Eigentropy, Anisotrop...

Re: How to capture the images and make figures?
Render to file sounded as if it would save cloud details in a text file rather then capturing an image.
I would actually use the term 'capture figure (or image)' or' export image'.
Best,
Kwan

Re: How to capture the images and make figures?
Great thanks. I have tried all other functions but never thought 'render to file' would do this work.

How to capture the images and make figures?
Hi,
I am trying to make figures based on the results in the screen.
Is there an option where you can customize the scale bars and capture images of the screen. Or do you simply use the capture function on the keyboard or different software?

Extract raw data result from M3C2
Hello,
I was wondering if there is a way to extract the raw data of the M3C2 result, so that I can import them in a different software to make different figures and calculate mean and sd etc..

Export normals data possible?
Hi, I am trying to get the normals (directions) of each point in a point cloud and export such data. Is this possible? I am aware that the CC has 'normal' options, but it seems to calculate them and present but not an option of exporting such information. To be more specific, I am expecting to get a...

Is automatic physical feature detection possible?
I am trying to detect a specific physical feature (not based on RGB) from the dense point cloud. For example, across a landscape with many ground pits (holes), I would like to detect ground pits (holes) with specific shapes. I was thinking of a supervised way where I delineate specific shapes (3D) I...

Spread 3D to 2.5D and Ascii column meaning?
I am trying to manipulate the xyz coordinates of each point to spread the 3D point cloud into a 2.5D terrestrial-like format. It is like spreading the earth globe into a flat paper. To do this, I would need to use the raw xyz data and use an external software to change the coordinates (project or tr...
