icp registration

Heeye everyone,

i have a question: Actually i compared two models from different years with a ICP Registration. When i Register them only about the tz's at 'translation' the results are for sure more correct and more detailed like u see the river bank erosion (red lines) in picture 2. What could be the reason ? is it possible that registration about x,y and z distortions the comparison for some reason ?

Have you set the 'overlap' parameter correctly before starting the ICP registration process?

Especially since the two clouds are probably different (and ICP is meant to register various scans of the same object), you have to lower this percentage even if the spatial overlap is the same.
