Can I colour mesh by thickness?

Post by AG001 »

I have scanned a section of pipe, both internally and externally. I have generated a mesh from the points, showing the internal and external surfaces - this pipe has areas of corrosion so the mesh is thinner in some parts than others. My question is if there is anyway to colour the mesh by thickness (i.e. distance between internal and external walls. At the moment it is all a single mesh. Thanks, Alex.

Hum, the only way would be to split the mesh between the internal and external part and then compute the distances. And to split the mesh... it depends on what it looks like!

Thanks Daniel, it is a fairly small section of pipe, so should be relatively simple to split into seperate meshes for the inner and outer walls - will give it a go!
