Hi,
First of all thank you for your great software, it is proven invaluable for me :)
The bug that bothers me is in the Surface of revolution analysis plug-in.
When I try to compare a point cloud and a primitive cylinder the plug-in only compares the top half of the point cloud and creates the 2d deformation map for it. I tried using real world point cloud data to compare with a cylinder, also I tried using a cylinder exported from 3ds Max and the results are the same.
The attached picture is an example of the results I am getting, the bright coloured part of the point cloud is the only part that is compared to the cylinder with the plug-in.
The test were done using versions 2.9 and 2.8.1 and the result are the same.
Thanks in advance.
With regards,
JP

Can you provide me with your test data? (cloudcompare [at] danielgm.net).

Okay, I fixed the bug. You can download the latest 2.9 beta release online.

Re: Problem: Surface of revolution analyisis plugin
Once again thank you for the quick fix.
Is there a reason why the Surface of revolution analysis plug-in doesn't use absolute heights but instead the lower half of the tank has negative heights an the upper part positive. Is it possible to make an adjustment so that the bottom has the height of zero ( or the height from the point cloud ) and positive heights to the top.
The problem is visible on the attached image.
Thank in advance.

Oh, it's because cylinders are centered on 0 by default in CC. I'll see what can be done.

Re: Problem: Surface of revolution analyisis plugin
Found the solution.
When you generate the 2D distance map (Surface of Revolution) in the Generatrix tab the Z value has to be 0, then the heights in the map will be apsolute.
