Hi. I'm new to to this forum and to cludcompare.
I have been collecting data with a Riegl VZ-1000 this summer without any control points. My scans are aligned and now I want to move my cloud to fit an existing terrain model. Is this possible to do in cloudcompare? Unfortunately, the only data I have for this area are raster DEMs.
Looking forward to hearing your thoughts
Move entire cloud
Re: Move entire cloud
Well, you have several options:
- if you know the exact displacement, you can use the 'Edit > Apply transformation' tool
- otherwise, you can load the raster (it will be loaded as a cloud by CC) and then:
- move the cloud manually (with the 'Edit > Translate / rotate' tool) so as to make it match with the raster
- use the point-pair based picking tool to register the cloud with the raster
See the wiki for more information about these various tools.
