Hi CloudCompare Community:
I recently discovered the program by another user and I found it very practice.
My question is related to the subsample tool. My objective is to modulate the distance between points by using a coordinate scalar field, concretally in the z direction. When I go to edit;subsample;go to space mode and check "Use active scalar field". maximum and minimum space. and press "Ok", the program freezes.
Thank you all in advance

CloudCompare freeze when Subsample by active coordinate Scalar Field
Re: CloudCompare freeze when Subsample by active coordinate Scalar Field
Which version are you using? Moreover, make sure to use 'realistic' values, as if the radius become very big for some values it may take a long time to process.

I'm using the 2.9.1 version. I proved with diferent distances but it doesnt change nothing.
I attach you below the link with the .stl mesh and the cloudcompare file with the attachment. I cannot upload directly to thew forum. I dont know why.

Well, I'm not sure what you are trying to achieve with a mesh (in "Cloud"Compare ;). However I assumed you were trying to resample the vertices?
Here's what I got (after setting the Z coordinate as scalar field): It works fine on my side. And it works also if I do this on a sampled version of the mesh (plane).

Yes, I created the mesh in another program. Then I imported in cloudcompare to extract the vertices.
I defined a active scalar field to the z coordinate.

I created the subsample using the "z scalar field" at the same way of you.

But when I press ok the program freezes and doesn´t seem to work.

Re: CloudCompare freeze when Subsample by active coordinate Scalar Field
Can you try with the 2.10.alpha version then?

Perfect the problem was related to the version of the program. In 2.1 works fine. Thank you very much.
