Post by FREDOO »

Hello,
I begin with cloudcompare, and i would like to do 2 things. Transform to mesh my e.57 file and export it to 3dsamax.
But when i use the poisson surface reconstitution with 12 octree deph my render looks like a potatoe . And if i use 20 octree depth it fail.
So i think i don't understand anything.
Is there a tuto in french ?
Thanks
Fred

Nope, I don't think there's a tutorial in French.

However if it looks like a potato at depth 12, then it's probably due to inverted normals (normals shouldn't be black once you have computed them - at least if you are looking at the cloud from the front).

You should also output the 'Density' scalar field, and then crop the mesh by removing the points with low density in order to see 'inside' the potato (see http://www.cloudcompare.org/doc/wiki/in ... n_(plugin)).
