Cut and Fill functions in CC

Post by jcampen »

Is CC able to be used to calculate between to cloud data sets the Cut and Fill volume changes? I don't see anything in Wiki on this.

If your clouds are '2.5D' (e.g. stockpile, airborne scan, etc.) you can use the '2.5D Volume Calculation' tool (http://www.cloudcompare.org/doc/wiki/in ... .5D_Volume).

Thanks for your feed back Daniel, I have only just discovered Cloudcompare and know nothing about this software . My point clouds are generated in Pix4D, so will this import and work ok in CC for comparing cut and fill calculations?

Yes it should work without any problem. If the clouds have big coordinates, make sure to read the warnings related to this when loading the files (and accept the Global Shift of course!).
