Since I set my display accidentally to full screen I can no longer select any of the top menu icons i.e, file, edit, tools, display etc.
I also cannot revert it so that cloudcompare doesn't fill my entire screen so i I can see my taskbar on the bottom of the screen.
I have uninstalled and reinstalled the app, including different vesions of the updates without any luck.
Any solutions?

Try to use the F9 or F11 shortcuts to leave the fullscreen mode.
Otherwise, if it doesn't work and you are on Windows, you can delete the 'CloudCompare' entry in the registry (HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\CCCorp\CloudCompare)
