Hello CloudCompare Forum:
I am a novice user of LiDAR data and CloudCompare; I have a .las point cloud of a heavily wooded area, and want to find a way to generate a bare-earth model- the goal being to see paths/roads and flattened areas underneath the dense canopy. Any ideas on how I might go about this, or if it is possible?
Thanks!

Re: Bare model from .las
The first option would be to try the 'CSF' plugin: http://www.cloudcompare.org/doc/wiki/in ... F_(plugin)
Otherwise you can try the CANUPO plugin (http://www.cloudcompare.org/doc/wiki/in ... O_(plugin)) but it may be more tricky.
And you could also try the 'Rasterize' tool (keeping the lowest points in each 'cell') but it only works at a low resolution so you only get a rough estimate of the DTM.
