In a previous question on calculating the surface area of the segmented point cloud. you answered as shown

Oh, a "facet"' is a tesselated polygon that fits the cloud contours (this only works for 2.5D clouds). Then it's equivalent to a mesh, and the surface is simply the sum of the triangles areas.
