how to set scalar field for multiple point cloud comparisons

Post by christyhipsley »

Dear all,

I'm new to CC but would like to use it to produce heat maps of shape differences in mammal skulls. I've been able to follow instructions here https://www.cloudcompare.org/doc/wiki/i ... D_entities
but I don't know how to set the scalar field to be the same for both entities. For example the field of one skull goes up to 23 in C2C absolute distances, while the other only goes to 13 (see attached image).

Is there a way to set it to be equal for both? I would also do the same for 2 other skull comparisons, so the best would be to have the max overall value as the highest distance in the scalar field, and then be able to adjust the other values so the differences are still visible across all 3 comparisons.

I realise this may have already been covered in this forum, so forgive me for not being able to work it out on my own.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks,
Christy

Yes, just look at 'absolute' color scales (either on this forum or even here: https://www.cloudcompare.org/doc/wiki/i ... es_Manager).
