Scalar Field (change unit)

Post by sunflower »

Hey,
I imported a DEM and set SF as coordinate Z. The only problem is, that the height is saved in cm in the DEM and I need it in m. I already tried solving the problem with multiply/scale. It seems to work until I import a second layer (dense cloud) which doesn't have the "height-problem". Because then the scale factor from the DEM is also used for the dense cloud.

Can I choose, which layer should be scaled or is there another way to edit the heights in the DEM?

One option is to scale the scalar field (before converting it) via the 'Edit > Scalar fields > Arithmetic' tool (you can multiply by a constant - make sure to do it 'in place').

But in fact, the 'Edit > Multiply / Scale' tool only applies to the selected entities. Therefore your dense cloud shouldn't be impacted by the new scale you define? (unless you select it at the same time of course)

Thanks Daniel. The arithmetic Tool worked perfectly and solved.
I also tried it again with the the Multiply/Scale-Tool, but I didn't get it to work the way I want it. So I'll stick with the arithmetic tool.
