Is it worth to buy an Oculus Rift headset

I am looking for a method to explore geodata in VR (tunnels and geological structures).

Is it worth to try CloudCompare with "Oculus Rift" or are there too many obstacles (SDK, Updates, ...) from the side Oculus to have a running system?

Or can you propose a different way to display LAS, OBJ and XYZ data in VR?

Looking forward to any hints.

I'm not sure CC supports the 'Rift' device (it was supporting the DK2 headset, but this one has been deprecated...)
