label a part of a mesh

Hi!

I would like to label/mark/colour a part of a mesh and assign a (text) note to the coloured part. Can this be done in CC and how?

It's not easy to do this. You can use several tricks:

if the mesh is dense, you can clone it, then manually segment the part you're interested in with the 'scissors' tool. Color this new mesh the way you want and play on the order of meshes (simply drag and drop the meshes in the DB tree so that the colored one is at the top - warning, in the version 2.5.3 you'll have to move the 3D view to force it to update itself otherwise you won't see the difference). You can also set a particular name to this mesh (F2) and check the 'Show name (in 3D)" checkbox to display it on top of the entity.
otherwise you can create an 'area label' with the 'Point picking' tool (it works only with a fixed camera though)
