Issue with .bin save and load in latest alpha release (02/01/2023)

Post by Dimitri »

Hi Daniel,

simple test: I load 2 point clouds, create a group with the 2. Save the group as .bin. no issue

When I try to reload the .bin (in the same CC instance, or with a new), I get an error 'File seems to be corrupted"/ Failde to read file (file position: xxx/xxx).

Tried with a variety of point clouds, same issue

Cheers

Dimitri

Hi Dimitri,

Do you mean that if you save only one cloud it works?

If yes can you maybe send me 2 bin files with each cloud separately? I believe it may be related to some specific features/properties of the clouds (as I can't reproduce the issue on my side).

Also, when you save the group, which Version is displayed in the Console? (it should be something like 'This file can be loaded by CC version 2.X.Y (date)'

Well, never mind, I believe I found the issue(s).

Can you retry with the latest 2.13.alpha version? (02/07/2023)

Yes, sadly the version before was bugged and was creating invalid BIN files in some cases. Sorry about that (that's the issue with alpha versions...)
