Hi all, got a bit of a tech question
As part of our cleanup workflow I like to interpolate the low points and then do a distance to distance comparison to filter out points.
On our processing PC, this dist - dist parameters computation hangs or crashes CC, however if I do it on my desktop it processes just fine.
Specs below but does having too many cores in the multi threaded option cause issues? At a bit of a loss and it leads to a bit of a clunky workflow jumping between machines.
TIA for any pointers you might be able to provide.
Processing PC (Dist-Dist issues)
CPU: Ryzen 9 3950x 16 Core 4ghz
GPU: 2x MSI 2080 Supers
Ram: DDR4 128GB 3200mhz
M/Board: ROG Strix x570-f
--------------------------------
Desktop PC (Dist-Dist works fine)
CPU: Intel i7-7700 4 Core 3.6ghz
GPU: 1x Nvida 1080
Ram: DDR4 32GB 2400mhz
M/Board: Gigabyte H170
Dist - Dist causing CC to not respond 12+hrs
Re: Dist - Dist causing CC to not respond 12+hrs
Well, maybe because it's a Ryzen? But 16 cores is not that high (I have 20 on my side, and it works always fine... but that's an Intel).
I frankly don't know, apart on macOS with Apple Silicon architectures, where multiprocessing seems really instable currently (in CC). So it could be a similar issue. But that's the first time I hear about that with Ryzen, so it may be a totally different issue.

By turning off multi core processing the AMD system runs just fine, I'll do this from now on but would be cool to see if it's a trend with certain CPUs
