3D Navigation Space Ball

Post by Callidus1 »

Hello all

Firstly, can I say that Cloud Compare is absolutely fantastic and a joy to use.
Great work Daniel.

I've been using a USB corded 3D Connexions Space Ball with CC for a while now and recently upgraded to the wireless version. The Space Ball works fine on Autodesk Inventor, Rhino and Design Review but won't operate with Cloud Compare? If I switch back to the wired version then no problems.

Any one else using these devices and experienced any similar issues?

Many thanks in advance

Indeed this issue has already been reported. It's due to the fact that it was possible to control wired space-mice with low level Windows API methods only (so this is what we did for the sake of simplicity). But this doesn't work with wireless mice - nor does it work on MacOS or Linux by the way. So we'll have to rely on 3dConnexion SDK to handle wireless devices properly but this will take some time... hopefully it will be ready for the next release.

Many thanks Daniel

Sorry, I did look through the posts but couldn't spot anything.
Not a huge problem, I know to use the wired version for the time being.

Thanks again for the fast reply.
