Hi Daniel,
Thank you very much for this great software and for the time and effort that you put into this project and for replying in this forum.
A functionality request: to be able to colorize the point cloud with RGB from an orthophoto. The orthophotos format could be GeoTIFF or georeferenced JPG. I checked the TODO.txt and it seems that this functionality is not within the list.
Thank you
Ammar
RGB color from image
Re: RGB color from image
Ah the wording may be different but it's already in 2 different versions:
[*] to overlay an image over the mesh with some common points and "drape" the photo on the surface
[*] To be able to transfer color from a jpg image to a mesh or point cloud. (same as Gianluca?)
[*] to overlay an image over the mesh with some common points and "drape" the photo on the surface

Yes, that is why I couldn't find it because of the different wording. I hope that one day this could be prioritized and get implemented in CC.
Thanks Daniel. :)

Meanwhile, I believe Meshlab offers something like that? Don't know if this works on meshes and clouds or only clouds though...

Re: RGB color from image
I feel that CC badly need a way to project a texture color into the point cloud.
Wether the typical import aerial shot and project into the lidar data, The typical coloring that would be needed. MAy be in command line, deifne source folder for each data type and have them matched wether by file name or by coordinates of the data, may be that second would be a nice to have or a future feature.
That would be the very basic to have, it would allow to
1) well, colorize un colorized clouds
2) rasterize colorized clouds, edit them in image editing soft, like to remove shadows, enhance colors etc, and color back the point cloud
BUT.
I see more potential, it would be epic to be able to rasterize the current view at a given resolution, have it wether saved to memory or to file, be able to do all the color corrections needed in photo editing soft and bring it back and project the color back. That would be sublime.
