exporting point picking values

Post by wq22 »

hello

What a grate software !!!! thank You very much Daniel !!.
I'm not an engineer but physiotherapist, so i will try to explain my problem step by step :).

I have two meshes of human body, one is relaxed posture second with relaxed postures with both arms raised.
First I'm doing "fine registration (icp)" then "compute cloud/mesh distance", then I use "point picking" tool, on label appear "CM2 signed distance = xxxxx" and X,Y,Z .
I was trying to export values from Labels ASCII file, but I can find how to do it ....
I have about 300 meshes to compare , and on each mesh about 20-40 points ....

So is there any way to export values of point picking tool to ASCII file ?

Thanks

Wojciech

Hi,

This is not possible as is. You can export all the points/vertices as an ASCII file (where you'll have x y z dist for all points) but Iguess you want to pick particular points?

Another way would be to use the "Point List Picking tool", pick the 20 points you want then export them as a new cloud and eventually compute the distances from this new cloud to the mesh?

Hi

I have 300 scans of 30 different people, 10 scans each.
For each person there is 10 different poses, ie. both arms rise, flexed posture, straight posture, etc.
We compare all poses to relaxed posture of each person.
I want to pick about 20-40 diffrent points form the body to see how body is changing when you take deep breath, erect spine , flex spine, rise arms .
For me it's not important the XYZ values, only "CM2 signed distance".
Exporting all point its quite difficult because each scan have about 800.000 points ...
Using point list picking , also is not suitable , because its hard to chose the same point on each mesh ... , so scalar field is much better, because i 'don't need to be very precise choosing the point.
It's looks like that i will need to manually writes those values :(.
Except that grate software :) !!!.

Thanks

Wojciech
