Hello,
I have checked the TODO.txt and I think what i'm kindly asking for is new.
When we deal with LIDAR data, we usually have rectified pictures (1 km square for instance).
Could it be possible to import these pictures in cloud compare to have a background picture that matches the cloud (that can be useful to classify some points, etc.) ?
That would work only in a projection view (typically from above). Some softwares (Telemac2D) allow to do it, and we just have to enter the coordinates of 2 corners to rotate and scale the picture.
I hope this functionality could be useful for other people.
Thank you. I hope my request is clear.

In which format are the orthorectified images? Are they standard images or geotiff maybe?

Hi Daniel,
we usually have ecw+ers and also jpg+jgw (the jgw basically gives the coordinates of one corner and the scale, assuming its a N/S/E/W matrix).
I don't know if any other formats are frequently used...
