I am currently working on registering several scans together (aligning 5 scans into one large scan) and have been encountering 2 consistent error messages:
[ccGLWindow::startPicking.render] OpenGL error: stack overflow
and
[ccGLWindow::paintGL] OpenGL: stack overflow
These messages most often appear together, however, sometimes only the second message ([ccGLWindow::paintGL] OpenGL: stack overflow) appears.
The error occurs when I am picking a point in the cloud (you must pick 4 pairs in the two clouds for a total of 8 individual points), sometimes I am able to pick 3 or 4 points in the pointclouds before I receive any error messages, but I am always able to pick at least one individual point.
I have tried entering in the coordinates of the point pairs manually with no success. I have also tried to use other alignment tools in the program and in the "sand box (research)" tab to no avail.
If anyone has any insight or experience to this problem your help would be greatly appreciated.
additional info: I am working on a Mac Pro with 2 3.06 GHz 6-core Intel Xeon processors, on the OS X Yosemite version 10.10.2, 64 GB 1333 MHz DDR3 ECC memory, with a ATI Radeon HD 5870 1024 MB Grapics card. CloudCompare is working through a Windows 7 Virtual Drive (Parallels Desktop 10 for Mac version 10.2.1) The TLS I used to collect the data was a FARO Focus3D.
Consistent error messages received when picking point pairs for registration
Re: Consistent error messages received when picking point pairs for registration
Hi,
I bet the issue comes from the virtual drive. We had similar issues with equivalent applications. The OpenGL support of such solutions is always partial or bugged. Have you tried with the Mac version provided by Andy Maloney by the way?
