Hello,
I receive this error message when dropping a las file in ( both v2.6.2b and v2.6.0):
after clicking OK here, displayed this one:
The same thing thing occurs if I compress the las file to laz with laszip.exe, the .laz file also drops this message.
Thanks!
Liblas exception: 'version minor out of range" error
Re: Liblas exception: 'version minor out of range" error
Indeed, this is because Liblas (the library we use to load LAS files) doesn't support the version 1.4 of LAS/LAZ format (the one with full-waveform).
If you don't have any full waveform data, I bet lastools must have an option to downgrade the file to version 1.3?

So it is. Thank you.
Re: Liblas exception: 'version minor out of range" error
Just for information : Actually, las 1.3 can also include full waveform information. If you try to load a las 1.3 with FWF data embedded, Cloudcompare will report an error
Re: Liblas exception: 'version minor out of range" error
I don't know if liblas if still actively supported... I believe that PDAL is more up-to-date but I really miss the time to look at this right now :(

I have this exact issue. Running CloudCompare v2.7.0. Can anyone explain how to fix this in layman's terms? Thanks in advance.

CloudCompare 2.7.0?! This is absolutely not supported anymore ;)
