installing plugins

Hello,
Please I would like to install the plugin qAnimation in my CloudCompare 2.6.0, what procedure should I follow?
(use linux - Ubuntu 04.14)

You can't. You need the 2.6.2 (or newer) version. This means you have to compile it yourself or wait for Romain to pavkage a new version - but the 4.14 version may be too old already !).

Or you can use Windows in a kind of virtual box?

On Windows, simply download and install the 2.6.2 version (or the 2.6.3.beta version). The plugins are already integrated.

I would like to load the qANIMATION plugin. Running CC 2.6.2 on Windows 8.1. qANIMATION is grayed in the Plugin menu. The dll exists in in the CloudCompare/plugins folder.

If the plugin's icon stays grayed out, it means you haven't selected the viewport objects that will be used for generating the animation. See the documentation of the plugin or the tutorial video.
