Dear all,
I am using CC for quite a while now.
A month ago I bought a 3DConnexion SpaceMouse and I was amazed by the possibilities in CC. However, I am experiencing more and more crashes when using the 3D mouse, actually already after touching. Is there something wrong?
I am running Win7 and CC2.6.2 64bit
Thanks in advance!
Sascha
CC crashes when using 3DConnexion SpaceMouse
Re: CC crashes when using 3DConnexion SpaceMouse
I'll have to test this again on my side. If you bought it recently then I guess you have installed the latest drivers?

Oh, and by the way, can you test the latest beta version? Not sure why but it might help ;)

Re: CC crashes when using 3DConnexion SpaceMouse
I just tried on Windows Seven 64 bits with the latest beta version (2.6.3). And sadly (or not ;) I couldn't spot any issue. I have a very basic 3d mouse (the round one with two buttons).
Do you get the crashes more often when in orthographic or in perspective mode maybe? And when you click on the buttons do you see the default 3d Connexion contextual menus?

Re: CC crashes when using 3DConnexion SpaceMouse
Thanks for your quick answers!
I installed the new beta now and it crashed again. And actually, it crashed just while moving the point loud. I do not use the buttons on the mouse.
However, I switched to perspective mode and it stays stable for the last 5 minutes

Re: CC crashes when using 3DConnexion SpaceMouse
I checked the code again and I couldn't spot any potential crash cause apart from an issue with the 3dConnexion SDK itself (especially if you say that it only happens when moving the mouse).
Have you tried to only press the mouse buttons? Does it work? Does it crash?
Otherwise I'm using 3DxWare v10.2.6, with 3DxWinCore v17.2.6.11469 (and I have a SpaceNavigator with firmware v4.31).

Re: CC crashes when using 3DConnexion SpaceMouse
Hi Daniel,
I had no such crashes since using the perspective mode.
I am on 3DxWare 10 v10.2.9, with WinCore version 17.2.9.11812. It's a SpaceMouse Pro (Frimware v. 4.35). So there are some differences to yours but however, I think the crashes that I had even if using the perspective mode were due to very large point clouds...
Also just pushing buttons does not yield to crash

Re: CC crashes when using 3DConnexion SpaceMouse
Then if the crashes occurred with large point clouds and when moving, you could try to disable the 'Load clouds on the GPU for faster display' options (in the Display Settings dialog).

Re: CC crashes when using 3DConnexion SpaceMouse
yeah, tried that but sadly no changes.
BTW are there any changes to the Animation plugin in 2.6.3?

None that I'm aware of for now.
