Hi,..
I'm working on a project which is intended to be viewed on CloudCompare, but I'm having trouble visualizing the textures properly.
So far I have created three levels of detail for my model, increasing the number of faces and the number of UV Tiles.
The levels are as described bellow:
- 1million faces; 2x 4096x4096 jpg textures (5.9MB)
- 2million faces; 4x 4096x4096 jpg textures (11.6MB)
- 4million faces; 8x 4096x4096 jpg textures (20.4MB)
I can only manage to visualize the first model properly, the other two load as they are supposed to but mess up the textures as soon as I manipulate the viewport. I have already tried to reduce the size of the images and experienced with different file formats, with no success.
Is there an issue with multiple UV tiles? These models have been working fine in other software (MeshLab, 3dsMax).
This is the result of the first model, after manipulating the viewport:
And this is what I get with the other two as soon as I do anything to the viewport:
I'll see if the error persists if I create a 1million model with 4 and 8 tiles... might have to do with the number of faces.
Any help is welcome... thanks!
Multi tiles textures messed up after manipulating viewport
Re: Multi tiles textures messed up after manipulating viewport
I don't see any (good) reason for this issue. Maybe it's a bug. Can you send me the 2M or 4M mesh? (cloudcompare [at] danielgm.net)

Re: Multi tiles textures messed up after manipulating viewport
Hi, Daniel... thanks for answering!
I'd really like to, but I'm not allowed to send any data.
It's a research project with a governmental heritage institution involved, can't mess with the big man.
But I found out what caused the problem...
First I created a 1M model with 8 UV tiles and it caused the same bug.
Then I took the 2M model which was showing this error and created a version with just 2 UV tiles and everything looked fine.
When I was working on the 4M model I remembered that on exporting (in Agisoft Photoscan) I had checked a option named "use UDIM texture layout".
So I went on and unchecked this option on exporting (which I only needed to take a better look on the UV's) and now all the models are working fine.
Thanks again, I hope this little incident ends up being useful for further development.

Sorry I'm a cloud guy, I don't even know what UDIM means ;)
In which format were you exporting these UDIM texture coordinates?
