Well, the tool that would give you the closest look would be the 'Point list picking' tool... but you can't provide your own list of points! (you have to actually pick them ;).
To get something relatively similar, you should definitely leave the GCPs in a separate cloud (i.e. no merge) and only set a flashy color and a big point size (but you'll miss the point labels):
