Bonjour,
- suivant
- installer un programme
- nommer le disque virtuel
- cocher "installer certaines librairies"
- 32bits
- dans la liste, cocher POL_Install_vcrun2012
- aller chercher CloudCompare_2.6.2_setup_x86.exe (Ouvrir puis Suivant)
Installer le logiciel comme sous Windows
A un moment donné, cliquer sur "Install Faro I/O plugin (to load FWS/FLS files) ..."
Bon courage
Erwan

Re: use CC on Linux with Wine
CC don't work in 64 bits with POL. I don't know why...
INSTALL CloudCompare Windows 32 bits on Linux With Wine gui PlayOnLinux (term can change : I use a french version)
- open PlayOnLinux (games menu on various distro)
- right menu = software install
- down = install unlisted software
On new window :
- next
- install a software
- name virtual disk
- "install more libraries"
- 32bits
- search in the list, POL_Install_vcrun2012
- browsing CloudCompare_2.6.2_setup_x86.exe (open and next)
Install the software
don't forget "Install Faro I/O plugin (to load FWS/FLS files) ..." if you use FARO ...
The installation final processing is very long. Be patient.
(don't launch at the end)
Finish
creat shortcut with the EXE of CC
name it
never create some for "uninstall" --> it's better to use Erase in Configuration menu of POL.
Next
that's all

Re: use CC on Linux with Wine
this is work great but it's not a useful way : not native linux, CC is slower and only 32 bits ...
If someone can use windows 64 bits with PlayOnLinux, Please tell us !
And better : if someone can make a 2.6.2 linux version ... :)

Re: use CC on Linux with Wine
I know there is a snap version of CC but I can't run it. I have the same problem :
viewtopic.php?f=12&t=2333
I try to compile CC few month ago with many error. I'll try again later.
Now run CC x64 with Wine is the only way to use it. It's not perfect (sometimes it crashs). I use the 2.6.3 from "apt install" too.
I know it's not a good way but I have only this.

Re: use CC on Linux with Wine
Hello,
maybe the last post here. I was on Linux Mint 18.1 with many problems (NAS server ...). I back to 17.3 with less problems but many with CC because snapd can't install. Now I'm return on LM 18.2, solved all problems (snapd, NAS, ...). And now everything is working.
I thing wine could be a temporary solution but not all the time. It crash a lot of time during working. I don't say that before because I was testing it :
I thing it's the worst way !
Don't do that if it's not only for test.
thanks
Erwan
