Hello,
I have Faro Scene LT and the CloudCompare 2.6.0 installer version installed on Windows 8.1 64bit.
When i try to import a Faro Scene file, CloudCompare give me this error:
Failed to connect to FARO LS runtime: Cannot instansiate FARO Open interface
Is there something to do to fix this problem?
Thank you
Wilfried

Hi,
I don't know if having Faro Scene LT is sufficient. You have to install the Faro LS SDK. It should be done by the installer (if you check the right option) but you can also download it from the Faro website (and manually install it).
Check also that a "CloudCompare.exe.manifest" file is present next to CloudCompare executable.

Hello,
thank you for the quick reply.
I have done all the points indicated.
Probably the problem is that Scene LT is not sufficient as you said.
In any case, Scene LT let me export .e57 that work fine.
Thanks again for your time.
Best regards
Wilfried

That's still weird because I have no Faro product installed on my PC and it works (that's the aim by the way). And the license is specific to CloudCompare (i.e. you don't need any).
Have you installed the latest Faro LS SDK? You'll need the version 5.3.3 at least (I think it's the latest anyway)

Hi,
what's the file extension of the faro scene files are you trying to load ? Because this is really working fine for me with .fls and .lsproj.
Try to reinstall Cloudcompare and reinstall the faro sdk. Strangely, I had one occurence where a first install of Cloudcompare and the Faro SDK was not working. Doing a second install on top of the previous one somehow made the install complete, and Faro import was working.
