Windows 8.1
CC 2.6.1
The program was working fine.
Now it crashes when I try to open a file.
I've uninstalled and reinstalled. Same issue.
Strangely, I have the exact same issue with meshlab.
Ideas?
Crash when clicking FILE > OPEN
Re: Crash when clicking FILE > OPEN
Hum, I guess this has something to do with Qt then... A recent update of Windows might have broke something (I'm afraid in this case it will take long to understand what's causing the crash and to fix it!).
Can you still drag and drop the files on a 3D view to open them?

Re: Crash when clicking FILE > OPEN
No, I am unable to drag any files into the 3D view. It just shows the circle/slash icon.
If I create a primitive and attempt to save I also receive the crash.
Is there any type of crash dump I can generate for you?
Thanks.

Sadly no.... This is really weird.
Can you maybe try to install and test the 32 bits version?

I installed the 32 bit version and it appears to work correctly.
I loaded a FARO .fls file.

Interesting.
Before when you had issues with the 64 bits version, was it with any kind of files or only with FARO ones?

Re: Crash when clicking FILE > OPEN
On the 64 bit version when I click FILE > OPEN, the file browser opens and triggers a crash at that moment, before I can even choose a file.
Sorry, I realize now that I was not very clear on the crash behavior.
Like I said, Meshlab is having the same problem. I wonder if my system is the problem. Although, every other program works normally.

Re: Crash when clicking FILE > OPEN
I can get around the issues by using OPEN WITH... in Windows file explorer.
But when I hit the SAVE button, the application crashes instantly before I can type a file name.

Re: Crash when clicking FILE > OPEN
I've just compiled the latest (64 bits) version with another version of Qt (4.8 instead of 5.4). Can you give it a try?

Yes, the beta works. I loaded an e57 file and saved. No crashes.
If you create another beta, could you include FARO support? (and normal computation if that's still on the table)?
Thanks.
