Hello

I have scanned a building (placed spheres on the ground in front of it's sides and checkerboard targets on it's surfaces), on ground level, it's perimeter and in another day i have scaned it's roof from scaffoldings, right next to it. But spheres and checkerboards are not common in these two "scan days". How can these scans be combined and merged toghether to create a complete 3d model.

Well if the spheres have moved and are not the same in both scans then they are pretty useless...

You can still use the 'Point-pair picking alignment' tool (http://www.cloudcompare.org/doc/wiki/in ... itle=Align) for a first rough registration (it can be quite good in fact if you manage to pick the points precisely).

Then you can refine this registration with the automatic 'ICP' registration tool (http://www.cloudcompare.org/doc/wiki/in ... ?title=ICP). Be sure to use the latest version (2.6.1) that has the 'overlap' parameter (and set this overlap to something reallistic depending on how much the scans overlap).
