Hello -
I've performed some preliminary searches in regard to my question but don't see any obvious hits - so I thought I'd ask:
Given a point cloud (PC) generated from a 3D model and a point in 3D space representing the location of the viewer, is there a way to filter the PC (or perhaps sub-sample it) such that points hidden by other points would be removed in the resulting point cloud?
One might say "why not remove the hidden surfaces before generating the point cloud?" but I'm not finding that to be a viable option right now.
Thanks for any suggestions or help.

Well, have you tried the qHPR plugin?

Thank you for pointing out that the plugin exists. Before you did I didn't know it existed. To check my tracks - I googled "cloudcompare hidden point removal" and the plugin shows-up in some of the top hits. Not sure how I missed it. Apologies.
