orthographic front of a building and hidden points

Post by geolux »

Hi Everybody
I would generate a orthographic front of a building, from color point cloud.
The problem is to hide the behind points. The plug-in "hidden point removal" is very interesting but work only in prospective view.
Have you some other idea?

Thank you

Do you mean that your cloud have holes in the front part? (otherwise you would just have to increase the point size to hide what's behind).

And the building is too complicated to be cleaned with the scissors tool I guess?

Hi Daniel, thank you for your fast answer
I do not want increase the points size, because in this case I will lose the definition of the image, and a lot of details
In other case I used scissor tool but now is very difficult to do.

Then can you use the Hidden Point Removal plugin from various point of views and then merge back the resulting clouds?

This method (the HPR algorithm) only works in perspective mode :)
