Why are my plugins disabled?

[Newbie Alert]

I am attempting to use the Poisson Surface Reconstruction Plugin. I load my cloud point file but the plugin is disabled.

Perhaps the underlying data must conform to certain attributes?

"to use this plugin, the user must select a point cloud with normals"

All my plugins are disabled.

Related request: I have only one file, with *.pts extension. I would like to familiarize myself with CC. Are there sample input files somewhere?

One that can be used with the plugin in question would be great, since mine is huge.

TIA

As the documentation says, you have to select (highlight) a point cloud. And make sure you select the cloud and not its container in the DB tree.

For point clouds, you can find some E57 and LAS files easily on the web.

Hello,
(newbie alert here too!)
I am finding the same difficulty from my side. I have managed to open the .pts file and it is selected (ticked) in the DB Tree.
However, when I go to Plugins, the PoissonRecon plugin is not available...
Any assistance would be greatly apprecitated!

I would like to export this point file so that I can use the file in sketchup pro (for mac).

Thank you very much.
Caitlin

So, make sure the cloud is selected and not the 'group' entity inside which the cloud lives.

Also, you need normals on your cloud. You can compute them with 'Edit > Normals > Compute' (see https://www.cloudcompare.org/doc/wiki/i ... %5CCompute)
