Issue with georeferencing

Post by Yosta »

Hi everyone,

I'm seriously struggling to georeference my 3D cloud that i have created with a ZEB-REVO HMLS scanner.
I have three Ground Control Points in a TXT file that i added into cloudcompare. The gps points are in Decimal Degrees. when i add the points they all seem to be on a line, very small within the cloud (i have to zoom in very far). However, the GPS points are not on a line but scattered throughout the surface area. As a result the allign won't work. The reference cloud is at a completely wrong spot. I've attached some pictures to show how it looks like.

Is there anything wrong with the input of my txt files? or is it somewhere in my settings. I've looked at multiple tutorials and it all seems to be very easy but my gps points are just very weird in the cloud

I believe the issue comes from the "decimal degree" coordinates. CC only handles Cartesian coordinates.
