Hallo everybody,

I have a point cloud of grave vine and my aim is to measure the volume or diameter of the berries.
I have no experiences with Cloud Compare. Maybe some one knows the best way to measure this?
I am thankfull for any ideas.

Thank you, for your respond.

We take photos from different angle of the grape vine. The photos are georeferenced. With the software Agrisoft Photoscan we converted the photos to a point cloud . And know we have point clouds of the howl plant, with stem, leaves and a white background.

Is this answer helpful for your?

I was expecting a snapshot but I get it.

You can try the 'RANSAC shape detection' plugin with only spheres. Hopefully it should detect the berries. See http://www.cloudcompare.org/doc/wiki/in ... n_(plugin)

Ah, the berries are quite small. Can you maybe segment a grape and zoom in? (it would be better to test the plugin anyway). How many points do you have approximately by berry?

Around 450 points per berry.

im not so happy with it.

I tired the tool compute 2.5D volume. I think the values of this are in the right range. IS this a valide tool for my purpose?

Hum, the 2.5D volume would work for a terrain, but definitely not for berries!

Can you maybe share the cloud with us (the small portion)? As a link on the forum or directly to my email address (admin[at]cloudcompare.org).
