iam new to cloudcompare. can anyone tell me is it possible to align pointcloud files in cloudcompare based on the coordinates of an Autocad drawing or is there any other method to allign pointclouds in cloudcompare
is it possible to use CC for BIM by using Autocad drawings as refernce ?
if yes let me know it helps me a lot

With the 'Align' tool (http://www.cloudcompare.org/doc/wiki/in ... itle=Align) you can manually input the coordinates of several points (as long as you are able to identify and pick them in the cloud).
Otherwise CC is able to load DXF files, but it would only be useful if it's 3D drawings. In which case you can either use the Align tool (and pick equivalent points on both the cloud and the CAD model). Or use the automatic ICP registration process (but both entities must be already roughly aligned, therefore you generally start by using the 'Align' tool and then refine the result with the ICP registration tool.
