Mesh distance flags

Post by sse94 »

Hi!

I was wondering, is there a way to display mesh to mesh distance at a certain point? I'm currently using cloudcompare to compare a 3d-model to its 3d-scanned, 3d-printed version. I'll attach a print screen from a company that performs thesae type of measurements. This is basically what I'd like to be able to do.

Thank you!

To do this in CloudCompare you currently need to convert the mesh (with distances) to a dense point cloud (with ('Edit > Mesh > Sample points', and then don't hesitate to use a lot of points). Then you'll be able to create labels with the distance anywhere you want by either left clicking on a point while holding the 'SHIFT' key, or by using the 'Point picking' tool.
