Frame Rate Issues working on textured mesh

Hi, Daniel!

First of all, thank you for keeping up the project so carefully.

So, i've been on working on a geologic interpretation of a model (~500mb OBJ file) that includes mesh(3M facets), vertices (1,8M) and textures (~15Mb). Everything is going OK, except for a very low frame rate. If the textures are turned on the FPS are about 1.5, if they're turned off it gets around 4,5 FPS (According to the Frame Rate Teste).

The hardware i'm using: I7700HQ, GTX1050Ti 4gb, 16gb RAM. "Try to load clouds on GPU for faster display" is checked. The console shows the GTX as the main video card.

Is there something i can do to a more fluid visualization?

Best regards :),

How many triangles do you have in the model?

CloudCompare is definitely not designed to work with mesh primarily (hence the 'Cloud' in CloudCompare ;). And we don't have any acceleration means to display them.

3,6 millions in the complete model. I've segmented the original model in smaller parts and i'm getting better fluidity now. Just wanted to make sure if this behaviour (low frame rate) is expected in the conditions described.

Thank you for your time!

Only 3.6M points? That seems a bit slow for this number of faces... Maybe the 1050Ti is not that fast?!

Please make sure that "Decimate meshes over [> 2.5 M.] triangles when moved" is unchecked in the display options.

To reach display options follow the top Menu bar [Display]->[Display Settings]
