Cross section tool (clipping box) - Possible to delete specific points?

Hi,

I have laser scans of a roadway and I need to delete the points from the passing cars. I cannot use the segmentation tool because it "tunnels" the entire site, and I don't want to delete points behind the cars.

There is a clipping box tool called the Cross Section tool but it locks the segmentation tool when it is activated. It looks like I can delete points inside the cross-section but I want to use the polygon selector. It is okay if I "tunnel" through a clipped part of the cloud since the points in the background are hidden.

Is there any way to go about accomplishing my goals with this software?

Thank you.

Have you looked at the Virtual Broom plugin? (https://www.cloudcompare.org/doc/wiki/i ... m_(plugin))

It has been designed for this purpose.

Fantastic, thank you. This should work.

Does this plug-in require the latest version of CloudCompare? I do not see it listed, nor do I see the .dll available for download.

Unfortunately I have to use the 2.6.3 beta version of CloudCompare as I am on an old graphics card. New versions give me the "Entry Point Not Found" error.

I tried downloading the new version, grabbing the QBROOM_PLUGIN.dll, and throwing it into the 2.6.3 beta plugins folder, but I cannot get it to pop up on the Plugins drop-down menu.

Yes, you'll need a more recent version indeed.

The "entry point" error might also be due to the Faro plugin. Have you installed it? If yes can you try to remove it?

That worked. I had to do a complete uninstall/reinstall, rather than just deleting the plugin .dll. Thanks!
