Bad meshing

Post by Issa »

Hello !

I'm very new in CC, and I face an issue.

Ihave a .ply file (point cloud) as the first image attached, and I wanted to mesh it (Normals + Poisson), but it appears it didn't work well, as show in the last image attached.

I don't really know why, as my ply file isn't noised or something ..

Any idea ?
Thanks a lot for your time.

First you should use the 'Density' output + filtering technique that is explained in the Poisson Reconstruction dialog ;)

This will help you remove most of the bubbles generated by the Poisson Reconstruction algorithm. Then the other challenge is always with the quality of the normals (they mus tall point in the right direction) and the density of the cloud (as it will be hard to determine where is the real material and where are the 'holes').

Ok Thanks that's a bit better !

But is there anything to do against the notched effect ?

Apart from using a more dense cloud, I don't know...
