Hello,
I am trying to convert STEP, STL, or VRML files to the 3D point cloud. But I couldn't find any documentation for the process. Is it possible to do that?
Does anyone have any idea . Can you help, please. Thank you in advance.

Re: STEP,STL or VRML tp 3D point cloud conversion
You can load an STL file into CloudCompare directly which will have all of the models vertices accessible as a cloud in the DB tree under the imported mesh.
it's points will be inactive at first so you will use the check box in the DB tree next to "vertices.extract" to be able to see them.
If you need the points to be all over the mesh rather than just at the vertices, then you will need to use the following command found at "Edit->Mesh->Sample Points"
