CloudCompare download & startup

I just found out about this software and it looks really awesome. I am having trouble getting the program to run. I have WIN7 64bit on a Lenovo laptop, I downloaded the 64bit zip file, reinstalled C++ (as suggested) and I get this error message
"Application was unable to start correctly (0zc000007b). Click OK to close the application."
I am not a programmer but do have an above average knowledge of computer operation & WIN7 64bit.
Can anyone help me figure out how to fix this, please?
