I flattened a mesh by scaling z to 0
I need to find MESH FLAT AREA
Please check attached STL file

Have you tried the 'Edit > Mesh > Measure surface' tool? (it should work fine as long as the triangles are not overlapping each other after the mesh has been 'flatten').

(on your example mesh, it gave me 1260.28 square units)
