How can we distinguish in M3C2

Post by vazz »

Hi.
I'm currently doing my TLS test like the attached pics.
And in recent, I apply the M3C2 algorithm. So I don't know exactly the principle of M3C2 distance and the options.
plz explain the problems of my results.
The results have to get the 0.1m at X axis, 0.05m at Y axis and the elevation of block is 0.075m. (so the change of Z axis is 0.075m)
But, the result does not fitting the real value. Also, the default option in C2C was not good result too.
The purpose of this test is finding out the exact separation distance btw two point clouds data.
And, is there a way to distinguish of x,y,z orientation in M3C2 result?

Thank you.

Code: Select all

I don't know exactly the principle of M3C2 distance and the options
Well, that's definitely part of the problem I guess ;)

See https://www.cloudcompare.org/doc/wiki/i ... 2_(plugin) and especially the original article (there's a link on the wiki).
