Moving around in CloudCompare

Hi,
I am new to point cloud and CloudCompare and I am currently trying to learn the basics. I have some decent experience with SolidWorks.

One thing I notice is that the point cloud keeps rendering whenever I move the camera around. The method I found to stop this is if i first use the "SOR" command, only then I am able to move the camera around the model without it rendering over and over again. Is there any command or tips and tricks that will help with this problem? The point cloud is relatively big and it takes a lot out of my computer every time i have to render the model.

I also have a question about zooming in. I know that a point cloud is not a 3D model in the same way, but is there any method that enable the possibility to move around inside say a house. Without actually removing the walls and splitting up the points as much. Now when i zoom in everything just becomes unclear and I am not really sure what I am looking out. I would like that when i zoom in, the closes wall just goes away completely, which opens up the view to look behind it if that makes sense?

Any help is much appreciated.

This 'continuous' rendering is actually the LoD mechanism (level of detail). It's meant to make the interactions more reactive, especially when displaying big clouds or when working with integrated chipsets instead of high end GPUs.

If you don't want this mechanism to activate, just go the Display properties (Display > Display settings) and uncheck the 'Decimate clouds over XX points when moved' option, or set the XX limit to a much bigger value (depending on how fast your GPU manages to display the cloud).

And second, to be able to "walk in" the cloud, you have to switch to 'perspective mode' (typically the 'user based perspective mode' - with the Display menu, or the shortcut in the left side toolbar, or the F4 key). Then zooming in or out (with the mouse wheel) will let you actually move the camera within the cloud.
