Hi everyone,
I tried to find a similar question but I assume I'm asking for the first time. I was trying to find out the reason we do plane fitting to detect the std of an object. Do you have any scientific paper that could be better to understand maybe?
Thanks for your time.
Best,
plane fitting
Re: plane fitting
What to do you mean by 'std' of an object? Are you referring to the 'Least square plane' local model option of the C2C distance maybe? Or the M3C2 distance?

Re: plane fitting
Hi Daniel,
yes, I mean after the plane fitting we can compute the distance between the plane that was chosen from the object and the object- From there on we can check the std value. However I'm curious about the algorithm behind this and want to learn more about it.
Thank you very much

Re: plane fitting
Well, that's just the standard deviation of the set of distance values?
