Volume calculation between two point cloud surfaces

Hi,
I have 3d scans of the same surface twice, one before cut and the other after. I want to calculate the volume removed by the cut from the surface. I have attached the top view with some x-section to understand visually.

how can I calculate the volume?

The only option in CC is to use the '2.5D Volume calculation tool' (see
https://www.cloudcompare.org/doc/wiki/i ... .5D_Volume).
So first you'll have to convert your meshes to dense point clouds (with 'Edit > Mesh > Sample points'). Don't hesitate to generate a lot of points so as to be able to use a find 'step' in the 2.5D Volume calculation tool and get a fine volume estimation.

Thank you.

Because your (Z projection) scan area is rectangular, it does not require any cleaning of mesh to avoid the convex area.
just
convert your meshes to dense point clouds (with 'Edit > Mesh > Sample points').
Remember in volume 2.5D Volume calculation tool to start from small grid up to bigger grid until you get stable volume
