This cloud has actually a lot of duplicated points. When running the tool 'Tools > Other > Remove duplicated points', CloudCompare found 6205 duplicate points out of 7430!

So many duplicate points make the algorithm to determine the correct octree level for the computation fail. By removing the duplicate points, things work much better ;)
