Compass plugin csv export

Post by aks_sky »

Hi everyone, just wondering if anyone has come across this before.

Once your plane measurements are obtained using the compass plugin/plane tool and you export the csv, is there a way to get the global co-ordinate (gx, gy, gz) to match what has been picked in the 3d window? I am finding that the Y co-ordinate is being rounded up to the nearest 10 in the csv while still displaying correctly in 3d.

Edit: Is there a way to directly work this out using the centroid/local co-ordinates that are also exported in the csv? They seem to be more accurate.

I guess as a temporary fix you could remove the Global Shift information of the cloud? (if you don't need to export the cloud afterwards). Use 'Edit > Edit Global shift and scale') and set the shift coordinates to (0, 0, 0).

But I guess it's a glitch of the plugin, I'll try to look at that and find a better solution.

I fixed the code, it will be available in the next 2.13.alpha release.

I just had the same issue, updated to v2.13 and all is working well!

Thanks for this tool, great for structural mapping!

Thank you so much. I upgraded from 2.11 to 2.13 and realized that the compass tool is 'not responding' everytime you pick a plane. Tried to see if computing normals or octree would fix it but it hasn't. The plugin still works well in 2.11.

Can you be more specific? On my side I am able to fit planes on the cloud (with the 'Plane tool') and then pick the created planes (with the 'Picking tool').
